  13. Well, this is my situation.

  15. I had ftp'd the System7.0.1 from apple ; unfortunately I used 'bin', 
  16. which I understand to be binary, as my mode of transfer. This  results in 
  17. Mac-Handler not wanting to  work properly when I try to transfer the 
  18. files to my mac partition, which is a 100M Zip disk. This device disk I 
  19. named MAC:.

  21. Well, I've been trying to use the Zterm that comes with the SSbootfile. I 
  22. got it working several time, but now it doesn't want to work. It hangs up 
  23. immediately after connecting. I have a hunch but don't know if it's 
  24. correct. It seemed to work before but now I don't know.

  26. If the Zterm is located on the filedisk SSBootfile, which is approx 154k, 
  27. then when I use Zterm, and it is buffering the information, does that 
  28. mean that the size of SSBootfile is increasing also???

  30. Is this why it seems that after I connect once or twice, then SSBootfile 
  31. gets full and won't accept anymore in the buffer and therefore the modem 
  32. hangs up? Am I way off the deep end on this? I noticed it says there is 
  33. like 27k initially left in SSBootfile.

  36. This is what seemed to lead me to this:

  38. I had followed this hunch and copied the Zterm and the Zphonelist onto my 
  39. MAC: . I had also shutdown SS and deleted the SSBootfile and recopied a virgin 
  40. one in its place before I did this copying.I figured now ZTerm  had 94Megs 
  41. for buffer space. It worked I was able to connect. But now something is wrong again and I 
  42. can't connect. SIGH!!! I've been at it for DAYYyyyyyyyyssssss.....

  44. Another thing: I managed, when I was able to connect, to dl a text file 
  45. from a local bbs. It worked fine. But SS would lock up when I tried to 
  46. dl  Stuffitdeluxe.sea. It was fine until the very end of the dl then it 
  47. locked up. What the Hell is going on!! I tried it several times. I'm 
  48. using the Zmodem receive and send. I also tell it to dl to the Mac:, 
  49. I even made a dl drawer, nothing seems to work.

  54. So, when I get Zterm working, should I ftp the MAC OS in ascii, and then 
  55. dl them to my Mac: , also do I 'convert transfer' to  binary, Macbinary, 
  56. Smart MAc Binary or text????
